The Department of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal, in collaboration with the Pitons Management Area and the Renewable Energy Sector Development Project (RESDP), recently conducted a series of vital public sensitization meetings. These sessions aimed to inform the community about the urgent need to declare the Pitons Management Area (PMA) as an Environmental Protection Area.
Throughout these engagements, we reached out to diverse audiences through various platforms, ensuring widespread awareness and participation. Some of the key activities included:
• A podcast broadcasted on 88.5, offering valuable insights and discussions.
• A public meeting held at Fond St. Jacques, providing an open forum for dialogue and exchange of ideas.
• A stakeholders meeting hosted at the Leisure Inn, facilitating collaboration and input from key stakeholders.
• A community meeting at Delcer Combines, fostering community engagement and involvement.
• Another podcast aired on Liberty FM, extending the conversation to a broader audience.
• A community meeting held at the Soufriere Bus Terminal/Market, ensuring accessibility to residents in different areas.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who tuned in, attended, or expressed interest in these important discussions. Your participation is crucial as we work together to protect and preserve our precious natural heritage.
